Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Taylor ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you find your correct clothing size on any website. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What We Collect

Taylor collects only what is necessary to provide size recommendations:

We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, or any personal identifiers unless you explicitly provide them.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All wardrobe data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. Your data never leaves your browser or is sent to Taylor's servers. Thumbnail images are stored as base64 data so they remain available even if the original URL disappears.

Pro users who opt into cloud sync will have their wardrobe data stored securely in Supabase. This is opt-in only and clearly disclosed during setup.

3. Third-Party Services

Anthropic API — if you enter an API key and enable AI recommendations, clothing item data (product names, size chart text, your saved sizes) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate size recommendations. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data: anthropic.com/privacy.

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics services, or tracking pixels.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as described above (Anthropic API, when you opt in). We do not display ads and do not allow advertisers to access any user data.

5. Permissions We Request

Taylor requests the following Chrome permissions:

Taylor does not read your browsing history, access your emails (unless you explicitly connect Gmail for the Pro import feature), or run in the background.

6. Gmail Import (Pro Feature)

If you choose to connect Gmail, Taylor uses Google OAuth to access your email solely to find past clothing order confirmations. We read only the emails needed to identify orders and never store your full email content. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your wardrobe data lives on your device and is retained until you clear it. You can delete all data at any time using the "Clear all" button in the Taylor popup. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

8. Children's Privacy

Taylor is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Taylor evolves. Material changes will be noted in the extension's update notes. Continued use of Taylor after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
